Heavy!! with tons of storage spaceJun 04, 2008 I have the matching corner TV stand for this which is super solid & I love it.
This tower, however, is a little wobbly. It's also extremely heavy - which you would think would indicate it would be more sturdy.
I think part of the problem may be that I couldn't get the screws in tight enough to make it more stable, so it may be just because I'm a weak girl. Some of the corners were too tight for me to get in with my impact driver to try and secure it more.
I may install some brackets to stabilize it a bit more - but it is a nice looking piece of furniture and has tons of storage space.

looks decent but there are some issuesFeb 01, 2008 We just got this unit yesterday. Free shipping from Amazon...I don't know how they can do that, this thing weighs a ton.
Unpacking the pieces, I found one broken and clearly was broken BEFORE being packed. You can tell this because the piece that was broken off was missing from the box. However, it was cosmetic and we were able to hide that it was cracked.
Some pictures of the tower show the door open with a receiver in the bottom section. That's misleading. There are no media cut outs in the bottom so unless you make your own hole, you can't connect your receiver to your other components.
However, the unit looks good, has good space and despite arriving damaged, is pretty solid.

Solid like a rockNov 16, 2007 We needed a shelving unit for our AV equipment since our new TV was being wall mounted. This unit fit well with the other black shelves we have and looked like we'd fit plenty of stuff in it. Well it arrived last night and HOLY COW it is solid and heavy.
The packaging is very good, no worry of damage there. Putting it together was super easy, all the little screws and bits are neatly wrapped together and numbered. It's quite tall and the shelves are adjustable. The shelves and walls are super thick, with a nice rounded front to them. The door on the bottom can swing either way, and it doesn't have glass but this stitched leather "window" thing in the middle (kind of odd, but it looks good). Inside the bottom section is another shelf as well. It's wide enough to hold any AV equipment and strong enough to hold up a rhinoceros.
I'm definitely very happy with it. My only criticism of it is that it might be TOO strong for just a couple AV items. But it's going to look great and serve us well for many years to come.
